From a passion project to a print network
It started on March 6, 2023 with two friends, a laptop, and the idea that you should be able to print anything you want on a t-shirt.
How it started
In early 2023 we kept making one-off shirts for friends — birthdays, inside jokes, band names that didn't exist anywhere yet. Every time, the process was the same painful loop: open ten browser tabs, chase a printer for a quote, send the file in the wrong format, wait a week, hope the colors matched. On March 6, 2023we decided we'd had enough and started building something better.
That something started as a single Next.js page where you could search a library of designs and have one printed on a shirt. No frills, no scale. Just the loop, fixed.
What it grew into
Three years in, add.style is a network. On one side we have thousands of designs — original work, licensed packs, and curated collections from independent artists. On the other we have print houses across Europe who care deeply about their craft and accept jobs through us instead of fighting through email and Excel.
When you pick a design and a product, we route the job to the partner best positioned to make it well — by material, by location, by lead time, by load. You see one storefront. Behind it, a system.
What we believe
- Print should feel like software. Fast, predictable, cancellable, fixable.
- Artists keep their work.Designers on the platform stay in control of their files and how they're used.
- Print houses are partners, not vendors. We share the upside and we share the work.
- Boring details matter.Sizing, color management, packaging, customs forms — they're the reason something arrives right.
